What we’re about

January Coffee is a multi-roaster specialty coffee shop, which serves a curated selection of our favorite roasters from all around the country, handcrafted signature beverages, high quality & thoughtfully sourced teas, and a bangin’ brunch program. We are proud to serve Onyx Coffee Lab — a powerhouse leader in the industry and the most decorated, award-winning specialty coffee roaster in the country — as our ongoing house roaster, while having two additional rotating roasters on our lineup that vibe with our standards of quality and company values. We’ve taken the same approach to selecting our tea partners and friends at Spirit Tea and Kilogram Tea, because we love what they do and how they do it.

When we started January Coffee, we wanted to pair amazing coffee and tea with an inspired food program (Aussie-style). We’re coffee people first and foremost, but self-proclaimed foodies second. We’ve carefully designed a menu that offers classic coffee shop fare, such as avocado toast and breakfast burritos, and we eventually aim to serve some funky options like our yet-to-be-launched musubi spamwich.

JOHN

John was born and raised in Boulder, CO. In pursuit of something new and different, he followed his best friend to Los Angeles, where he spent nearly 2 decades working in various coffee jobs. He started his coffee journey as a dishwasher at a local coffee shop in 2003, then moved up the ranks to management. He managed several different specialty coffee shops, including beloved multi-roaster, Fix Coffee (RIP), then spent years in coffee sales & training for highly esteemed roasters such as Intelligentsia Coffee and La Colombe before returning to his hometown of Boulder.
