We love to prepare, taste, and enjoy coffee with others. This love is what fuels our desire to serve and build a community in and around our shop. We sincerely believe that coffee is about so much more than the liquid in your cup — it’s about all the people who work to make great coffee happen from farm to cup: the producers, roasters, baristas, and the people who drink it. We strive to connect those dots, to bring people and ideas together through genuine, authentic hospitality, and to create a memorable experience. We’re in the business of coffee, which, to us, is about the people that make coffee so special.
THIS IS HOW WE DO IT
✽ Be kind. We believe in showing kindness through compassionate and caring actions and words. We show that we care by doing good, practicing empathy, and treating others well.
✽ Be inclusive. Our motto here at January Coffee is “great coffee is for everyone,” and we really mean that. We want to create a safe, inclusive, & welcoming environment on both sides of the counter.
✽ Have fun. However serious we are about our coffee, we think being in a coffee shop should be fun. If we’re not having fun, we’re doing it wrong.
✽ Always be learning. We tried to word this ourselves, but someone else said it better than we could. “Live a life full of humility, gratitude, intellectual curiosity, and never stop learning.” — GZA (of the Wu Tang Clan)
These are the core tenets that guide us in the shop and in life. We try our very darndest to ensure that these values are upheld and respected in our space by staff and visitors alike. Be kind and courteous or leave.
NO WIFI WEEKENDS
No Wifi Weekends are officially happening! We will continue to offer free Wifi during weekdays limited to 2 hours per visit per day. One of our goals at January Coffee is to cultivate and encourage conversations and togetherness — we love how many visitors want to come in to our cozy space to spend time with their friends and families. As you may have noticed, seating availability has become an issue (a good problem to have!), so we are trying to make sure as many people as possible are able access and enjoy the space we’ve curated for everyone. Let’s take some time to unplug from our devices and instead connect with the people in the community around us.
